Guidance to the Ojos del Salado Summit at 6.893 meters, January 2009

Mountains:

Ours speciality it´s Manage, lead and guidance trips to Ojos del Salado volcano located in the Atacama Desert, from 2001 we develop expeditions to the highest volcano on this planet.

In Central Andes we offer the opportuneness to explore mountains above 5.000-6.000 meters high with moderate technical skills.

From 2009, Monte Aconcagua trips must to include previous climb from 4 to 5 days long duration, the shedule will be different from every client groups, mainly it´s depend of you leasure time in Chile.

What´s include in the trip ?

What´s the equipment suplied by Andes Explora for Ojos del Salado trips ?

1.- Base Camp (Dinning tent for 3-6 climbers)                                                      2.- Common equipment: tables, chairs, dishes, dinner course (knife, spoon, fork, tea spoon), gas lamp, glasses for hot and cold drinks, permanent acces to hot water and biscuits.                                                                                               3.- First Aid Kit                                                                                                 4.- Radios VHF                                                                                                   5.- Mountain Tents for 2 clients (model Altus)                                                       6.- 4WD Vehicule by 4 clients (v.2007-2008)                                                       7.- Mountain Guide with experience in the Atacama Desert and in the Summit for each 4 clients and base camp assistance with experience preparing the food, hygiene and trekking.                                                                                        8.- During the trip we use stoves with gas of 5 kg.                                              9.- During high altitude camps we use small butano-propane stove.                   10.- Arness and carabiners (for summit day).

What´s climbing gear can I rent from Andes Explora ?

If you are traveling for bussines or if you don´t want to carry the mountain gear like sleeping bag, plastic boots, crampons, down jacket, ice axe, rock climbing equipment, ice climbing equipment, etc. Email to equipment@aexplorar.cl

What about the Food ?

 

Andes Explora provide all food while in the mountains:breakfast, lunch, dinner and summit food during our expeditions.

 

Breakfast: Coffee or tea, oak, cornflakes, long life bread, marmalade, low cream milk, butter, jam, cheese, eggs.

 

Lunch and dinner: spaghetti, soups, rice, cow meat, chicken meat, fresh salads the first days, Canned goods the next days, canned green salads (summit days), canned fish , etc, milk desserts , fresh fruits when possible and then canned fruits. Chilean Wines, coffee , tea or herb water.

 

Summit food: Chocolates, candies, dryed fruits, peanuts, raisins, almond, isotonic juices, hot water.

 

How can I reserve a Trip ?

 

1.- In all cases payment must be done before begining the expedition: 50% to confirm your reservation, and at least with a month in advance, and the balance at the begining of the expedition.

 

2.- If you can’t participate in an expedition you reserved, you can use that value (50%) for another expedition in another date.

 

3.- The price is the same if you get the summit or not.
